Abstract
A multiplicity of sensor groups (21) each containing three seismic sensors is arranged along a cable which is subdivided into sections. All of the sensor groups of a section are arranged at inputs (C1 - Cn-1) of a multiplex device (122) in a transceiver. Each cable section is fitted with one such transceiver each. In order to receive control signals from a central station via control channels and to transmit the seismic signals, received from the sensor groups, to the central station via a data channel, all the transceivers are connected to the central station. In addition to the multiplex device for scanning the analog seismic signals, each transceiver comprises high-pass filters consisting of capacitors (123) and a resistor (140), amplifiers (142, 148) and an output register (3033) with an analog/digital converter (126) for converting the scanned analog values of the seismic signals into digital signals. The control signals emitted from the central station are delayed differently by means of delay lines. Present in each case in each of the said devices is a signal coincidence detector which has the effect that the digital signals stored in the output register pass to the central station when two of the control signals transmitted from the control station arrive simultaneously at the device via the control channels, which in each case have a different signal propagation time. Because the control of the devices is performed by the control signals with different delay times, a multiplicity of devices can be controlled without increasing the number of the control lines in the cable. <IMAGE>
