Abstract

154,746. Master, S. D. Sept. 23, 1919. Chimneys. - The chimneyholder is imperforate, and the chimney is so constructed that the air passes to the burner down between two concentric tubes, or through one or more passages formed internally in or externally on the chimney. In one form, the chimney consists of two concentric parts a, b, connected by a perforated partition c as shown in Fig. 1. In a second form, the chimney is formed with more side passages e, such as are shown in Figs. 7 and 9. The air is admitted to the side passages e, or to the annular passage between the parts a, b, below the exit for the combustion gases, and the exit end of the chimney is coned or contracted.
