Abstract

1537558 Valves MORRISON-KNUDSEN CO Inc 8 Sept 1976 37203/76 Heading F2V A discharge control assembly for a hopper comprises parallel support plates 12, each including upper 14 and lower 16 portions, a closure plate 24 supported by the lower portions 16 for rotation about an axis 22 between open and closed positions, the two portions of one support plate 12 being connected by a hinge 50 and the two portions of the other support plate 12 being joined by a camming arrangement 54 operable to increase the distance between the closure plate 24 and the edges of its seat to ensure easy opening. The cam 56 is pivotally held by pin 62 on portion 16 and has an eccentric slot 58 in which rides a pin 60 fast with portion 14. The closure plate 24 is carried on stub shafts 32 one of which carries a plate 34 heaving sleeves 36 in which a rod can be inserted to rotate the closure 24. The plate 34 has slots 38 in which a pivoted latch 44 can engage to hold the closure in one or more positions. An adjustable friction brake 46 is provided. The closure plate 24 carries curved plates 26 and extended plates 28 to act as a discharge chute.
