Abstract
1536954 Conveying drinking straws from bottles CENTRAL BOTTLING CO 11 May 1976 [30 May 1975 24 Oct 1975] 19377/76 Heading B8A Drinking straws 3 are seized between a pair of relatively converging conveyer belts 4, and are thus removed from bottles 2 as the belts 4 move upwardly. Two pulley arrangements for guiding the belts 4 are described (Figs. 2 and 4, not shown). The straws are centred, as the belts converge, by the action of guide plates 26 which are bent over the belts at 27, and are fixed to a frame lug 31 at 30, and a cross member 25 at 29. The straws are discharged at 15 by divergence of the belts.
