Abstract

The printing cylinders (1a) and impression cylinders (1b) provided with printing plates and forming a stack in a printing machine, e.g. an offset machine, are arranged in supporting bearings (3) of the machine frame (2). Provided at both ends of each cylinder (1a, 1b) are contact rings (4) for setting the precise distance between the cylinder axes. In order to largely eliminate the bending of the shaft supporting the cylinders and thus achieve approximately the same printing pressure over the entire length of the cylinders, the contact rings (4) of the outer printing cylinders (1a) are subjected to pressure via short loading rollers (5). <IMAGE>
