Abstract

1532084 Earth leakage current detectors BROWN BOVERI & CIE AG 19 March 1976 [19 March 1975] 11109/76 Heading H2K A transistor Q 2 controlling the energization of a relay RL in dependence on an input signal from an earth leakage detecting transformer L is so biased that, in the absence of an input signal, it is in a conductive but non-saturated state. When earth leakage occurs, Q 2 is cut off on negative half cycles, causing RL to drop out. Negative feedback is provided by Q 1 , and the power supply by battery B which is kept charged from one of the phases being monitored.
