Abstract

1530740 Thermostable pigments containing iron oxide MONTEDISON SpA 27 Sept 1976 [29 Sept 1975] 39930/76 Heading C4A A thermostable pigment containing iron oxide and which contains one or more modifying elements imparting to the pigment colour varying from red, through brown to black, is prepared by (i) dissolving one or more compounds of the modifying element or elements, in the quantity required for conferring to the pigment the desired colour, in an acid solution containing ferrous sulphate, (2) separating an homogenous mixture of ferrous sulphate and sulphates of the modifying elements from the solution by crystallization or evaporation to dryness, and (3) calcining the separated homogeneous mixture at 700 to 1000‹ C.
