Abstract

1530261 Transfer printing RNC GRYLLS 26 Sept 1975 [26 Oct 1974] 46417/74 Addition to 1490844 Heading B6C [Also in Division B5] A method of making a bonded fabric comprises heat bonding two layers, one of which is a non- woven fibrous layer to the opposite faces of a continuous sheet consisting of or comprising heat-softenable and bondable material, the heat softening the continuous sheet but not the non- woven fibrous layer, the method further comprising needling the non-woven layer through the continuous sheet and transfer printing the non-woven layer during the bonding step. In the embodiment described, a sheet of polyethylene is interposed between two laps of acrylic or acrylic/wool fibres and needled prior to the bonding and transfer printing.
