Abstract

1527764 Insulated conductors WESTERN ELECTRIC CO Inc 9 Oct 1975 [16 Oct 1974] 41357/75 Addition to 1488111 Heading C3M [Also in Divisions B5 and H1] Elongate conductors, e.g. telephone dropwires, are coated with compositions comprising (1) 100 parts of polyvinyl chloride, (2) 3-10 parts non-brominated epoxy resin having a weight per epoxy equivalent of 170-180 and (3) plasticizer for the polyvinyl chloride, by advancing the conductor preheated to 450-650‹ F. and contacting it with the composition so that the composition adheres to the conductor. The composition may also contain fillers, flame retardants and stabilizers.
