Abstract

1525633 Thermal deburring ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 20 Aug 1975 [21 Aug 1974] 34527/75 Heading F4T A mixing block for admitting a combustible gas mixture comprising at least two gases into the combustion chamber 1 of a workpiece thermal deburring machine, comprises a housing 3 with a bore 4, the gases being supplied to the latter via valves 9, 10, a nozzle 23 between the valves and the bore, a conical bore 24 opening into bore 4, one of the valves controlling the gas flow through the nozzle and the other controlling the gas flow to an annular gap 27 which communicates with bore 24. Each of the valves has a vertically-displaceable closure member 15, 16, which is moved into its closed position on a seat 17, 18, against spring means 13, 14, by an hydraulic piston 11, 12, the gases being supplied through lines 7,8. If oxygen is supplied through valve closure 15 at the combustion chamber pressure, a suction effect is produced in annulus 27 at the nozzle orifice 29, and entrains the gas fed through closure 16. The closure member and seats 15, 16, 17, 18, are protected from the effects of combustion since the gases are not mixed until they arrive at nozzle 23. A third valve 30, which is normally not used, serves to discharge into a line 31, if combustion does not take place.
