Abstract

1522677 Fuel injection nozzle ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 18 Sept 1975 [18 Sept 1974] 38308/75 Heading F1B A fuel injection nozzle comprises a nozzle body 4 with a bore 3 in which a movable valve-member 1 is situated and in which a portion 2 of the valvemember is guided axially, an annular fuel passage 11 being formed between the valve-member 1 and the bore wall. The valve-member 1 has a head 5 which is biased against a valve seat by a spring 9 located between the nozzle body 4 and a spring retainer 8 which engages a part-spherical seat on the movable valve-member. The side of the spring retainer 8 engaged by the closure spring is surface ground to a smooth finish and is preferably polished to minimize the effect of transverse forces on the movable valve-member. The face of the spring retainer 8 which engages the movable valvemember is also part-spherical as are the cooperating faces of the head 5 and the valve seat 6.
