Abstract

1523437 Burner for liquid fuel NU-WAY HEATING PLANTS Ltd 5 Nov 1975 [19 Nov 1974] 49957/74 Heading F4T A burner for liquid fuel comprises a first tube 10 forming a supply passage for fuel and having an outlet nozzle 11, a second tube 12 surrounding the tube 10 to define therewith a first annular air passage 13 having an outlet 16 which is divergent in the direction of flow, and a third tube 18 surrounding the tube 12 to define therewith a second annular air passage 19 having an outlet 22 which is convergent in the direction of flow, there being air swirlers 17, 23 in the respective air passages 13, 19. The outlets 16, 22 are defined between frustoconical surfaces 15, 16 and 20, 21 on the respective tubes. The tube 18 is engaged in a cylindrical sleeve 24 which with coaxial cylindrical sleeves 25, 26 defines annular passages 27, 28, provided with air swirlers 29, 30, for secondary air. The swirlers 17, 23, 29, 30 may all be arranged to impart swirling motion in the same direction.
