Abstract
1516166 Electric vehicle propulsion systems LINDE AG 7 Aug 1975 [7 Aug 1974] 33027/75 Heading H2J In a vehicle having a braking system and an electrical propulsion system of the type including an electric motor (not shown), a main switch 2 operable to prevent operation of the motor and primary control means 3 or 21 operable to regulate the power transmitted to the motor, there is provided a secondary control means 14 or 27 and 2D, operable by the braking system and arranged such that when the brakes are at least only partially operated it permits control of the power, below a predetermined maximum level, by the primary control means. As described the secondary control means is operated by the parking brake. In Fig. 1, the secondary control switch 14 is provided in the supply line to higher transmission stages 11, 12 of a system in which the power transmitted to the motor may be increased in steps. In Fig. 2, a pulse circuit (not shown) has its mark-space ratio determined by the primary control means 21, the mark-space ratio being limited by the zener diode 20 when the parking brake is at least partially applied (i.e. switch 27 is closed).
