Abstract

151,591. Soc. de l'Acumulateur Tudor- Sept. 27, 1919, [Convention date]. Cells.-In storage batteries having containers which melt at a low temperature such as those made of a bituminous compound melting below 100‹ C. and in which the electrodes are provided with lugs 2 which rest on the top of the container, the top of the container 1 is covered with a glass or other heat-insulating strip 3, as shown in Fig. 1, or is formed with a groove containing a glass tube 5, as shown in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which a glass strip 7 is arranged vertically in a recess formed in the upper part of the wall of the container, which may be thickened as shown at 8 for strengthening purposes. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the glass or other strips &c. 3, 5, 7 may also be applied to metal containers to prevent short-circuiting of the electrodes. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
