Abstract

1515590 Lamp caps PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 31 Dec 1976 [5 Jan 1976] 54427/76 Headings H1D and H1F The part of an aluminium lamp cap which is connected to the lamp envelope has a hardness not greater than 60 HV 0À3 kg. The cap when made has a hardness of about 80 HV 0À3 kg. but local annealing for about twenty seconds at 300‹ C. reduces the hardness to between 49 and 55 HV 0À3 kg., thereby reducing the risk of cracking the lamp envelope when attaching the cap thereto.
