Abstract

1513372 Boring earth &c WICKMAN WIMET Ltd 15 July 1975 [26 June 1974] 28278/74 Heading E1F [Also in Division B4] A rotary percussive drilling bit 10 comprises a shank 11 and an integral head 12, the shank 11 having a central hole 18 for passage of flushing air or liquid, the axis of the hole 18 being lengthwise of the shank and coincident with the axis of rotation of the shank, and the head 12 having a hole 19 extending from an end face 17, the axis of the hole 19 being parallel to the axis of the hole 18 and offset therefrom, but overlapping the hole 18 so as to directly communicate with it. The cross-sectional area of the junction of the holes 18, 19 may be equal to or greater than the cross-sectional area of the hole 18. Further holes extending from the face 17 may be provided, these holes also having their axes parallel to the axis of the hole 18 and communicating directly therewith.
