1513205 Making current connections in electrolytic cells IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 7 July 1977 [4 Aug 1976 10 Sept 1976] 32491/76 and 37605/76 Heading C7B In a cell having a conductive corrosion-resistant base (Ta, Ti, or Nb) which supports a plurality of anodes, the underside of the base is pretinned by contact with a molten tinning metal/alloy and with an ultrasonically excited probe before bonding to one or more conductor parts of greater conductivity than the base (Cu, Al, steel). A 20 Kc/s probe may be run over the base while contacted with Sn, Zn, Cd, Sn-Pb, Sn-Zn, Sb-Bi or Sn-Zn-Pb before vacuum-soldering to a conductor sheet over its whole surface.
