Abstract

1512090 Sight glass assembly for pressure vessel C E MEGINNIS 29 Dec 1975 52939/75 Heading F2P A sight glass assembly comprises a first housing section 10, a second housing section 11, a lens 12 and packing member 13 between the two housing members, and a clamping assembly 14 for clamping and pressing the housing sections together whereby the packing member is caused to expand laterally to place the lens in lateral compression and provide a seal. The clamping assembly 14 is readily attachable and detachable for easy assembly and disassembly. Gaskets 25, 34 may be provided between the lens and the housing sections and a liner of L-section and impervious to the effects of fluid in the vessel may be fitted between the lens and the packing member.
