Abstract

151,158. Pearson, G. Sept. 30, 1919. Folding wringers. - Relates to combined machines, and consists in pivoting the wringer over the washing-tub, which is fitted with a mechanical agitator, so that it can be turned down into the horizontal when not in use, and the whole converted by means of a wooden cover into a table. A wringer A is mounted on a shaft B carried in ball-nosed brackets D on the frame C of the washing-machine, and is maintained in a vertical position by a surface E bearing on a horizontal surface F, and by locking levers J pivoted on the wringer, engaging with notches H in the brackets. In the turned-down position, the surface E bears against a vertical surface G on the bracket D and the enlarged top-board A<1> bears against the tub frame to diminish the strain upon the bracket D. A draining-board L extending between the drip board M and the washing tub N is hinged at P. The table top comprises a wooden cover R provided with slits S to admit the spindle T of the lower roller.
