Abstract

1511249 Jib cranes CEMENTATION GROUND ENG Ltd 1 Sept 1975 [27 Sept 1974] 42206/74 Heading B8H A mobile crane, (such as a crawler crane, but not a tower or a floating crane), particularly for stabilizing soil by dropping a large weight from a height on to soil to be compacted, includes stabilizing means including a weight 11 attached to a universal joint 10 connected by a first elongate member 12 to the body of the crane at a pivot 2 above the crane slewing ring. A second elongate member 9 is connected between the joint 10 and a point 4 above the pivot 2 whereby by varying the length of the member 9 the weight 11 can be raised or lowered by the member 12 being caused to swing about the pivot 2.
