Respirators.-Comprises a construction of respirator of the type in which separate inlet and outlet valves are fitted for the inspired and exhaled air respectively. In the present construction, the respirator comprises an inner layer a of impermeable material and an outer layer b of filtering-material. An inlet valve d is fitted in the inner layer, and an outlet valve e fitted to both layers so as to communicate directly with the atmosphere. The respirator fits over the nose and mouth in the usual manner and is secured by head straps c. In a modified construction, the respirator is extended to fit over the eyes and includes or spectacles fitted to both layers similarly to the exhalation valve. Two inlet valves, one on either side of the respirator, are used in this construction.
