Abstract
1509016 Secondary closures TUBOPLASTFBANCE 23 May 1975 [12 June 1974] 22596/75 Heading B8T A secondary protective closure of plastics material is composed of two parts, namely a cylindrical skirt 1 and a disc 3 fixed to the edge of one of the ends of the skirt and the skirt is composed of two co-extruded thermoplastic materials 5, 6 of the same material, the inner layer containing, as an additive, a product which reduces its coefficient of fraction. The preferred thermoplastics material is 0À4 grade low density high pressure polyethylene and the additive may be glycerol monostearate (0À25%) or a fatty amide, e.g. a food-grade master mixture (2À5%). The disc can be attached by over moulding or the closure may be thermoformed and a vent 4 may be provided in the disc 3.
