Abstract

1506921 Adhesive coated labels for marine use E T MARLER Ltd 24 March 1976 [21 Feb 1975] 7375/75 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B6 and B8] Adhesive - coated labels and transfers for use in a maritime environment include a marine anti - fouling material within the label substrate material or within further printing or coating material thereon. Such coatings may be applied to the substrate either before or after the application of printing, in the latter case as a clear varnish. The anti - fouling material may be tri-n-butyl tin, triphenyl tin fluoride, bis (tri-n-butyl tin) oxide, a triaryl lead compound, cuprous oxide, an octyltin stabiliser included in polymeric material in increased amount, or a moiety within polymeric printing or coating material e.g. tributyltin acrylate as a component of a photopolymerised material. The substrate may be cast or calendered pvc or vinyl acetate - vinyl/chloride copolymer film, or transfer paper. The printing or coated material may comprise vinyl chloride homopolymer or copolymer, acrylic polymer, chlorinated or cyclised rubber, epoxy resin or chlorinated hydrocarbon polymer. Printing inks may be applied by screen printing. Specified constructions are pressure sensitive adhesive labels and transfers and water - slide and solvent - fix transfers.
