1506177 Impact pulverizers HENRY BALFOUR & CO Ltd 23 May 1975 [23 Aug 1974] 37037/74 Heading B2A An annular collar 25 Fig. 2 is secured round the beater shaft 5 of an impact pulverizer to shorten the effective length of the beater 9 Fig. 1. Thicker collars or a number of collars may be provided coaxially, the collars being in two parts joined by bolts 30 and each including a slot 26 to permit extension of the associated beater arm 11. The comminuting apparatus comprises a casing with inlet and outlet, arranged for the prebreaking of animal carcasses, the beaters cooperating with an array of anvil bars 24, Fig. 2.
