Abstract
150,391. Turner, F. W. Nov. 24, 1919. Hasp fastenings.-In a trunk lock having an extensible hasp, a staple-plate 4, provided with holes 9, telescopes in the hasp tongue 1, pivoted at 3 to the part 5, which is riveted to the lid of the trunk, a milled-head screw 10 being provided on the tongue 1 to engage with any of the holes 9 in the plate 4 to adjust the distance between the pin 3 and the staple 6. A pin 7 on the plate 4 slides in a slot 8 in the tongue 1 to prevent the detachment of the staple-plate from the hasp tongue. In a modification, the tongue 1 has a spring detent engaging ratchet recesses in the staple-plate 4.
