Abstract

1502308 Drafting rollers; air cleaning roller wipers LUWA AG 30 April 1975 [3 May 1974] 18040/75 Headings DID and D1F In a drafting machine having drafting rollers, each roller has a wiper contacting its surface, air guides direct cleaning air onto the wipers, and at least one roller set and associated wipers and air guides are movable to adjust the distance between the sets. Rollers 8, 10, 12 are carried in two fixed bearing blocks 6. Rollers 18, 20, 22, 24 are carried in bearing blocks 14 movable by spindles 16. Rollers 30, 32 are carried in bearing blocks 26 movable by spindles 28. Each roller has a wiper 33, which may be spring biased against it. Conditioned cleaning air is drawn through sliver inlet 35 and over the wipers by fan 39. Surfaces such as 73, 75 direct the air onto the wipers. Such surfaces and the relevant wipers are movable with blocks 14, 26. A filter may be located adjacent the fan.
