Abstract
1502294 Stays HETAL-WERKE FRANZ HETTICH 27 March 1975 [30 March 1974] 12829/75 Heading E2F A stay, particularly for supporting a furniture flap 3 pivoted to a frame 4, comprises a stay bar 1 pivoted at 2 to the flap and slidable in a guide member 6 pivoted at 7 to the frame; a locking member 16 pivoted about an axis 20 in the guide member is biassed by a spring 35 into engagement with a projection 13 on the bar in the open position of the flap and will release the projection when closing pressure is put on the flap. The faces 25 and 21 of the member 16 which respectively engage the projection 13 during locking movement and unlocking movement are angled so that locking movement requires less pressure than unlocking. A coil spring 35 is shown, adjustable by screw 37, but in a modification (Fig. 5, not shown) the spring can be a leaf spring (40). The bar 1 is metal and the guide member is moulded plastics, preferably formed in two symmetrical halves with an integral hinge for ease of assembly about the bar.
