Abstract

1502180 Rear view mirrors HAPPICH GmbH Gebr 16 Dec 1975 [28 Feb 1975] 51472/75 Heading B7J An exterior vehicle mirror assembly comprises a mirror-adjusting handle 10 and a mirror housing 1 disposed at respective ends of a twoarmed lever 2, the arms 7 and 9 of which form an obtuse angle, and a ball 8 integral with the arms forming a fulcrum for the lever, the ball being pivotally mounted in an adjustable twopart socket 3 of which each part comprises a portion 11, 11a shaped to conform with the shape of the ball 8 and an additional wall portion 12, 12a, and means 13, 13a being provided for adjusting the distance between the wall portions. In use, the handle 10 and part 11a, 12a are located inside a vehicle body whereas part 11, 12 is located outside the vehicle. As shown, a region 15 of the edges of the wall portions 12, 12a is shaped to hold the edge of a window pane 14 or pane guide, and the wall portions can form the front lower corner area of a window in the front door of a vehicle, Fig. 2 (not shown).
