Abstract

1500400 Utilizing wave energy A G DAVID 17 July 1975 [19 July 1974] 29969/75 Heading F1S A device for the conversion of the energy of sea waves into motive power comprises a structure having an air chamber 1 adapted to be subject to the flux and reflux of sea waves whereby the air in the chamber is alternately compressed and decompressed and a duct 2 leading from the air chamber to a turbine 3 through which air is moved in opposite directions by the pressure variations in the air chamber, the turbine having stator vanes (not shown) on each side thereof angled so that air movements in both directions drive the turbine in one direction only. Also on each side of the turbine rotor is a stationary cone (not shown) designed to deliver the air to the stator vanes.
