Abstract

1495606 Discharging articles through shoots KOMBINAT UMFORMTECHNIK HERBERT WARNKE ERFURT VEB 6 March 1975 [8 March 1974] 9369/75 Heading B8S A device for feeding headed workpiece blanks 21 to a processing station comprises a pair of elongate parallel bars 1, 2 disposed one above the other and defining a guide gap (3) therebetween, Fig. 2 (not shown), the bars 1, 2 being inclined longitudinally at an angle to the horizontal so that blanks in the gap (3) are fed therealong by gravity, the bars 1, 2 also being inclined transversely at an angle (5) to the horizontal, Fig. 5 (not shown) in order to receive the blanks by their unheaded portions from an orientating station of the device. The said station comprises a rotatable cone or rotatable truncated cone 9, part of whose surface envelope lies in the same plane as the bottom surface of the guide gap (3). The cone 9 rotates along with a rotor 10 which is operative to raise the blanks from a bin 12 so that the blanks drop on to the surface of the cone 9, a catch plate 13 being provided to enlarge the catching surface for the blanks. In a second embodiment of feeding device, Figs. 6-8 (not shown), a catch guide plate (20) is provided at the blank orientating station, as an alternative to the cone 9.
