Abstract

956,664. Feeding sheets. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Feb. 25, 1963 [Feb. 28, 1962], No. 7402/63. Heading B6B. Apparatus for aligning cards in a stack comprises a roller rotating about an eccentric axis extending in a direction normal to the planes in which the cards lie when stacked, which engages one edge of each card entering the stacking compartment and moves the card to bring its opposite and/or an adjacent edge into contact with a card-aligning surface or surfaces extending in a plane or planes perpendicular to the planes of the stacked cards. The cards 2 are fed downwardly one at a time to a compartment 8 having walls 4 along two adjacent sides and aligned with the stack of sheets already positioned in the compartment by rotating rollers 3 located at the other two adjacent sides. The rollers are circular in crosssection and rotated about eccentric axes. The upper ends 3a of the rollers are cone-shaped to guide the cards into the compartment. The roller bearings 9 are of resilient construction.
