Abstract

1493362 Refrigerator casings PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 18 Nov 1974 [21 Nov 1973] 49866/74 Heading F4H A refrigerator cabinet has the upper ends of the inner and outer surface layers 2, 3 folded into substantially U-shapes 17, 18, respectively so as to fit within correspondingly formed U-shaped channels 6, 7 of a breaker strip 4, which channels are interconnected by a rib 8 of the strip. The free ends of the layers are engaged by undercut portions, e.g. hook-shaped projections 19, 20, of walls 11, 14 of the channels and the space between the layers is filled with a plastics thermal insulation foamed in situ. The breaker strip may be formed as a moulded construction of four lengths joined together at their ends with moulded corners to provide a rectangular door frame. The evaporator coil (not shown) is embedded in the foam insulation in contact with the layer 2.
