1489653 Thermionic cathodes INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 10 Jan 1975 [10 Jan 1974] 1122/75 Heading H1D [Also in Division H5] A heater for a thermionic cathode of a cathode-ray tube includes a filament coated with a dark-coloured insulator and is made from an alloy containing 3 to 20% rhenium, the remainder being, e.g. tungsten or molybdenum. The filament, which can be of circular or rectangular cross-section, can be formed as a coil, a coiled-coil, or a spiral.
