Abstract

1489424 Electric plug DORMAN SMITH BRITMAC Ltd 7 July 1975 [15 Aug 1974] 35988/74 Heading H2E To bar its insertion into standard sockets unless they are provided with a special face moulding, a 3-pin plug is made to differ from the standard 13-amp flat pin construction by turning the flat live and/or neutral pin to be parallel to the earth pin instead of perpendicular to it and by reducing the crosssection of the tip or tips of the non-standard pins so as to be the equivalent of standard pins in their co-operation with a standard socket base. As shown the live pin 12 is set non-standard with its tip 15 reduced in width to lie in line with the neutral pin 13 for co-operation with a standard socket base 16. The face moulding 17 requires a special live pin slot 18.
