Abstract
1489246 Phosphonate esters and their hydrolysates DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 30 Aug 1974 [1 Sept 1973] 08889/77 Divided out of 1489241 Heading C2P The invention comprises (a) phosphonate esters having the formulµ wherein R<SP>1</SP> is a C 1 -C 12 alkyl group optionally interrupted by one or more hetero atoms or radicals and optionally containing one or more halogen substituents and (b) partial and complete hydrolysates of said esters, such hydrolysates containing free phosphonic acid groups formed by hydrolysis. The esters may be obtained by appropriate methods described in parent Specification 1,489,241 and examples are given for the production of compounds of each formula in which each R<SP>1</SP> is ethyl. The products are useful for increasing the resistance to corrosion of metal surfaces and for increasing the adhesion of organic materials to metal surfaces.
