Abstract

1489083 Pipe couplings KAY & CO (ENGS) Ltd 15 April 1975 [18 April 1974] 17124/74 Heading F2G An in-line fitting, e.g. a stop tap 1, is installed in a pipe-run by removing a section A of piperun of sufficient length to allow the fitting to be positioned between the cut ends of the piperun, sliding an adaptor tube 5 on to one cut end 8 of the pipe-run, coupling one end of the fitting 1 to the other cut end 9 of the pipe by, e.g. a compression joint 2, connecting the other end of the fitting 1 to one end of the adaptor tube 5 by, e.g. a screw threaded joint 3 incorporating a sealing gasket 6, and connecting the other end of the adaptor tube 5 to the one cut end 8 of the pipe by, e.g. a compression joint 7, the adaptor tube 5 being of sufficient length to overlap the pipe end 8 to form a joint. Preferably a card is provided carrying printed fitting instructions and having marks to indicate the length of pipe section to be removed.
