Abstract

1488593 Electric incandescent lamps DUROTEST CORP 3 April 1975 [27 Sept 1974] 13760/75 Heading H1F A lamp comprises a transparent envelope 10, means such as a permanent magnet 22 for producing a magnetic field, a first filament 20 mounted within the envelope at a predetermined orientation with respect to the magnetic field so that, when supplied with alternating current, it incandesces and vibrates, and second means having electrical resistance properties. The first filament is preferably made of carbon and the second means may be a second filament 26 made of tungsten and connected in series or in parallel with the first filament. In a modification the second means is an annular resistor (40, Fig. 3, not shown) surrounding the stem (16). The magnet may be mounted outside the envelope.
