Abstract

1486415 Drying objects WIRA 16 Sept 1974 [27 Sept 1973] 45200/73 Heading F4G An apparatus for drying objects 4 made of or containing natural or synthetic fibres comprises radio frequency heating means for evaporating moisture from the objects and means for producing a current of air for removing moisture from the vicitiy of the objects. The heating means comprises two perforated electrodes 1, 2 the separation of which may be varied by a linkage 7 connected to the electrode 2. The air current producing means comprises a fan 11 the air being distributed to pass through the electrodes 1, 2 by perforated pipes 17. The objects 4 are carried between the electrodes on a perforate conveyer 3, a guard 8 being provided for preventing objects which have a height too great to pass under the electrode 1 from progressing to the electrode. A scale 10 is provided adjacent the guard.
