Abstract
1486159 Fluid actuation of switches VDO ADOLF SCHINDLING AG 24 Jan 1975 [15 Feb 1974] 3277/75 Heading H1N In a fluid pressure switching apparatus having a housing 1 bounded at one side by a diaphragm 6 which is operatively connected to a plunger 12 for operating a switch unit 17, e.g. a microswitch, a bimetallic element 25 for compensating for temperature caused pressure variations within the housing 1 bears at one edge portion on a stationary part of the apparatus and is operatively connected at another edge portion with the plunger 12. The inner edge portion of an annular bimetallic plate 25 is secured to the plunger 12 and the outer edge portion of the plate 25 is clamped between a plate 9 and a ring 27. If the pressure within the switch housing 1 changes due to temperature variations, the bimetallic plate 25 causes the force of a spring 22 acting on the plunger 12 to be reduced for an increase in temperature and to be increased for a decrease in temperature thereby compensating for the pressure fluctuations. The bimetallic element 25 may be in the form of a strip. The force of the spring 22 is adjustable by altering the position of a member 14.
