1485090 Wrapping confectionery GD SpA 16 April 1975 [17 April 1974] 15619/75 Heading B8C To process confectionery products of predetermined parallelepiped shape and size wrapped in single-point style with the points folded over on to the major surface of the product at which the longitudinal edges of the wrapper overlap, the wrapped products are passed to an intermittently movable conveyer 19 from a rotatable wrapping head 14, the conveyer having pockets 18 to receive and exactly house a wrapped product, and are then conveyed to a pressing station where a member 21 presses against a housed product to flatten the wrap, to enhance the fold lines, and to regulate the thickness of the wrapped product. As shown a continuous length of confectionery rope is shaped by walls 3 and discs 4 and advanced by rollers 5 to be cut at 7 and fed intermittently to guides 11 to engage a cutting of wrapping material fed vertically into a slot 12 from reels 13. Wrapping is performed by the rotatable head 14 which has fixed and oscillating fingers, the wapped products then being passed to the pockets of an intermittently rotatable conveyer 19. At successive stations around the conveyer the product is pressed by a vertically reciprocable member 21, the wrapper is heat sealed by an electrical heater plate 28, cooled by a watercooled plate 42 and ejected by a vertically reciprocable member 51. Should the apparatus stop, electromagnets 30 are de-energized automatically so that the heater plate 28 is raised from the conveyer 19 by a spring 34.
