1484830 Windscreen washers SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUR AUTOZUBEHOR GUSTAV RAU GmbH 20 Jan 1976 [28 Jan 1975] 02141/76 Heading A4F [Also in Division B2] A spray head for a screen washer, for example for washing the rear window of a vehicle comprises an adapter 10 made of hard plastics material and insertable in an aperture in the vehicle body said adapter having a hose-connecting spigot 11 and a fluid inlet conduit 12 leading to an opening 13 in which a metal ball-shaped nozzle 14 having a jet orifice 15 of circular cross-section is adjustably mounted, and a resilient plastics cap 15 having an opening 21 for the spray from the nozzle, said cap being held to the adapter and against the surface of the vehicle by the engagement of a locking rim at the end of a socket 22 within the cap with an annular groove 16 on the adapter. Preferably the cap and the adapter have cooperating guiding means such as a slot and rib, to ensure that the nozzle 14 and the opening 21 are correctly aligned. The adapter has locking fins (18), Fig. 2 (not shown) which engage with the vehicle body behind the aperture therein and a washer 25 interposed between the vehicle body and a shoulder 17 on the adapter acts as a seal.
