S u b a q u e o u s audible signals.-In subaqueous signal transmitting apparatus of the type described in the parent Specification and of the type provided with an oscillatory structure composed of separate masses and an elastic connecting-member, the exciting force is applied between the masses of the said structure. The exciting-device C is described as electro-magnetic, but may be of a mechanical nature, and is arranged between two masses M, and M2 which are connected by an elastic rod S. The mass M2 nearest to the diaphragm which may be the side of a ship, is connected to the latter by an intermediate member H. The desired ratio of transformation can be obtained without making the free mass M1 smaller than the mass M2.
