Abstract

1482828 Door frame E I E SCHUBEIS 14 May 1975 [30 May 1974] 20432/75 Heading E1J A frame for a double-door (in particular a sound-proof fire-proof door) has a removable, vertical post 7. The lintel 1, jambs and post 7 have sound-absorbing sealing strips 8 which contact the doors 4, 5 when closed. The post which is hollow and contains e.g. rock-wool or glass-wool may be attached to the lintel 1 and the threshold 2 by catches so that it is removable by hand or by a hinge at the lintel and a catch at the threshold or may be attachable to one of the door leaves when removed from the main frame e.g. by interconnected catches, the rods 15 when moved by the handle 14 disengage from the lintel and threshold while the hooks 17 engage the plates 18 so attaching it to the door leaf 5. Alternatively the post may be permanently hinged to the door 5 and act as a locking member for both doors.
