Powder blowers.-An apparatus for blowing fireextinguishing powder on to a fire by means of compressed nitrogen comprises an injector i to which the nitrogen is supplied through an annular passage a, so as to suck the powder out of the container, to the interior of which jets of nitrogen are also supplied through nozzles l, so as to impart a rotary movement to the powder to break up any lumps. This comminuting action is assisted by a spring n. The nitrogen is supplied from a cartridge p through passages r, r<1> to the injector i and nozzles l respectively.
