1481532 Extrusion apparatus H NAKA 25 June 1974 [6 July 1973 (3) 11 Aug 1973 17 Aug 1973 24 Oct 1973 (2) 19 Feb 1974 (2) 21 Feb 1974 (2) 15 April 1974 (3)] 53183/76 Divided out of 1481531 Heading B5A An extrusion apparatus, for producing a strip of plastics material 10 incorporating a bendable reinforcing web 173, 361 and having longitudinally extending main body and side portions 11, 12 respectively interconnected by a connection portion 171, comprises means for feeding the web material 361 from a supply roll 310 through a forming means 370, 371 to make holes in the web and through a heating means 311 to heat the web. The apparatus further comprises an extruding die 324 for receiving the web at one applying a plastics material in a plastic condition on to the web to form the body, side and connection portions and cooling means 332 for receiving and cooling the formed product. A second extruder may form a further layer of a different plastics over the first layer. The web may be hard plastics, cloth, aluminium, copper or stainless steel and may be perforated or expanded. The extruded plastics may be P.V.C. polyolefins or celluloses. Further apparatus may apply adhesive to the lower surface of the web together with a release paper 306.
