1477372 Amphipathic polymer DULUX AUSTRALIA Ltd 21 Nov 1974 [21 Nov 1973] 50442/74 Heading C3P An amphipathic polymer is a copolymer of (a) poly(ethylene glycol)acrylate or methacrylate and (b) methyl acrylate or methacrylate, the poly(ethylene glycol) component of the poly- (ethylene glycol)acrylate or methacrylate having a molecular weight of 500-1500, and the weight ratio a : b being 0À5-0À7: 1. A thickened aqueous latex paint may comprise 0À1-15%, by weight of latex solids, of the amphipathic polymer, the disperse particles of film-forming polymer in the latex having dimaeters less than 0À5 microns.
