Abstract

1473984 Pipe couplings NOVA-WERKE AG 26 Sept 1975 [26 Sept 1974] 39595/75 Heading F2G A union for coupling a fuel injection pipe 1 with an element 2, e.g. an inlet manifold, comprises a clamping sleeve 4 in screw threaded engagement wth the pipe 1 and a union 3 screwed into the element 2, the union serving to press a frusto-conical end face 5 of the pipe against a corresponding sealing face 6 on the element 2, and, by means of a frusto-conical surface 12, compress a part 10 of the sleeve 4, which is provided with four longitudinal slits 11, radially against the surface of the pipe 1. In an alternative embodiment a forged collar is provided on the end of the pipe 1 and the sleeve 4 presses against the collar. Furthermore, the surfaces 5, 6 may be part-spherical rather than conical, if desired.
