1471255 Knitting devices G H TICHENOR 2 Jan 1975 [3 Jan 1974] 00235/74 Heading D1C A knitting device comprises a plurality of equidistantly-spaced bearded needles 2, Fig. 5, connected together to form a needle bar 24, a plate 13 at each end of the bar and formed with a notch, a sinker 1, Figs. 1 and 2, rotatable by hand and movable, e.g. by thread 5 engaging the needles, along the needle bar to draw by its hook end 4 a yarn laid across the needles to form loops on shaft part 6 and on the needles. On completion of a row of loops the beards are closed, either by a bar 25 or by inserting the sinker shaft into the notches, so that loops on the needles may be pulled through a previously-formed row of loops already held on the needles. The needles are of a plastics material and further plates 13 may be disposed intermediate the ends of the bed. Specification 1361146 is referred to.
