Abstract

1,095,631. Knitting-machines. EDOUARD DUBIED ET CIE, SOC. ANON. March 12, 1965 [March 24, 1964], No. 10538/65. Heading D1C. In a flat machine, e.g. a parallel machine, for producing fashioned articles in string formation, a take-up device, for ensuring an even pull over the width of the articles comprises two interengaging combs having teeth with narrow shanks and wide heads which may form a continuous barrier to hold yarn looped around the shanks. The combs 19, 20 extend across the full width, or merely the edges, of the beds and are mounted on a bracket 11 that is raised or lowered by means of rods (46, 46') attached to spaced endless chains (38, 38', Figs. 3, 3a, not shown). Comb 20 is rigidly fixed to the bracket, while comb 19 is free to move vertically on pins 18. Displacement of a slide 12, by conventional means not described, having cam slots 12a engaging pins 17 raises comb 19. Having engaged the wide edge of an article the device draws the fabric until the article is completed or is guided between draw rollers, when the fabric is released and it is rapidly raised to engage the following article. The article is guided between rollers (24, 81, Fig. 8, not shown) by prongs (75) pivoting about the roller axis.
