Abstract

1470974 Lids JUDGE INTERNATIONAL Ltd 16 Aug 1974 [5 July 1973] 32037/73 Heading B8P [Also in Division E2] A removable lid 11 for a moulded plastics container 12 is hinged to a peripheral rim 13 by an integrally formed hinge element 15 comprising a first part 21 extending downwardly from the edge of a depressed portion 22 to engage the inner surface of container 12, and a second part 23 extending downwardly on either side of part 21 to engage the outer surface of rim 13. The lid has a domed shape to give an over-centre stable position when the lid is opened and part 23 rests against the outside of the container. A cut-out 24 between the first and second hinge element parts assists opening of the lid to the over-centre position.
